Programs & Workshops

In keeping with our purpose to promote and advance quilting through the education of our members and the public, AQG offers programs through the monthly meetings, Friendship Groups, and workshops. Non-members are welcome to attend.  AQG meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Allen, 605 South Greenville Avenue in Allen. (See map below.)

Current Projects

Join us in 2017 as we work on a collaborative project. Each participant will receive a pattern of a small dress based on a template by Sindy Rodenmayer. Use your imagination and embellish to your heart’s delight. Only requirement is that the dress should be red and placed on a white or offwhite background (9″ by 13″). Next February we will assemble the blocks in honor of American Heart Month, supporting healthy habits for a healthy heart. Pattern available here: http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/freepatterns/fcp_RedDress.pdf.  Thank you Sindy (fatcatpatterns.com) for sharing your pattern with us!

2017 Block of the Month

Our Ways and Means chair, Kathy Scott,  has put together a Block of the Month project. For only $5 per block, you will receive fabric and instructions and by the end of the year, you will have an entire quilt! Cathy promises the patterns will be fun – first block was distributed in January “Square in a Square.” Colors will coordinate (red, black and white).
