AQG Programs for 2024
| January 18th | 2024 Kick-off Meeting | Our Kickoff for 2024 will include Presentation of Raffle Quilt and hearing from several of our Charities that we sew things for. Show & Tell at the end of our meeting. |
| February 20th | Allen/McKinney Friendship Luncheon | Our 2nd annual Friendship Luncheon with Mckinney Quilt Guild will feature Tammy Whitehurst as our speaker. We’ll have soup, salad & dessert. We had a blast last year. Call or Text Elaine to sign up at 936-465-8229. |
| March 21st | Community Sew-In | Come sew with us at Fabric Fanatics from 10 – 5. We’ll be making different items for our charities. Kits will be available. |
| April 18th | Improve Quilting | Ellen Zinsmeister, Presenter Are you wondering what Improv quilting is? How it works? Or maybe you’ve never even heard of it before! Ellyn can’t wait to share some of her modern quilts made with improv techniques and talk about what Improv quilting really means. Maybe after hearing about it, you’ll want to give it a try yourself! Come join the fun! |
| May 16th | Scrappy Quilting | Sharon Holliday will share a trunk load of quilts. What’s the art of making your scrappy quilts not look scrappy. |
| June 20th | Making Clutch Purses | Debra MR, one of our own, will show a collection of clutch purses made of a variety of materials. Workshop to be scheduled. |
| June 29th | “The Necessary Clutch Wallet” Cork Workshop: | A workshop using cork to make the “Necessary Clutch Wallet” is scheduled for June 29, 2024 from Noon – 4:00p.m. at Fabric Fanatics in Plano, Texas. The cost will be $40.00 for supplies and patterns. Sign up at the June Meeting. |
| July 20th | Cookout & Games | Come enjoy getting to know everyone as you play games and enjoy some grilled burgers at Debra MR’s house and “Shop the Guild Stash”. Don’t worry, it’s an indoor picnic! |
| August 15th | QOV Community Sew-In | Come help sew blocks and piece the blocks together to make Quilts of Valor. Meet at Not Your Mama’s Quilt Store from 10 – 5. |
| September 19th | Journey of an Art Quilter | Leo Ransom will be presenting his journey as quilter and showcasing his art. |
| October 17th | Modern Quilting | Kathy Tolbert, Presenter Kathy will be talking about her journey as a modern quilter. She’ll share her beautiful quilts. |
| November 21st | Fabric Ornaments | Gretchen Carroll, Presenter Gretchen will have a display of her fabric ornaments. She will share her journey as well as how to make. |
